Bookworm
The game not being for left handed people is not the only problem with the game. You have to hold the System sideways like Brain Age yet, it’s not even necessary to make the game like this.
Other than the fact I can’t play it well being left-handed, The game play is pretty simple. connect the tiles to spell a word consisting of 3 or more letters without letting the burning tile fall to the bottom.
If the burning tile reaches the bottom – Everything catches on fire, game over. And in Action mode – tiles light themselves and other disappear.
Come on Now, There’s no real need to play a game like this sideways. Brain Age I can understand as you actually write stuff on the touch screen.
It’s pointless for a game like this to be played sideways

Having been a long time fan of this game, I was excited to be able to order for a Christmas gift for my mother. I received it in plenty of time before Christmas and in immaculate condition.

Bought this along with several other educational DS games for my kids. Have tried them first to make sure they are what I was hoping for. This one is really fun. I think my kids will enjoy it. It’s simple but has some challenging points. I think it will give them a chance to work on their words but also another level puts ‘fire’ tiles in there that pushes you to find words quicker. Only put 4 stars instead of five because, so far, it seems to be all there is to the game. It lists ‘books’ that you unlock, but I thought you got to read whatever books these were. So far, they are just there for show, I guess. Little disappointed there. Oh, well. The game was super easy to navigate and great to pile on the couch and see who finds words the fastest. We’ll see what happens.

This is a relatively simple game, well suited for uncoordinated people like myself who lack the dexterity, eyesight and skill for playing all the action games available for the Nintendo DS and DSI.
Essentially, the object is to form words of 3 letters and more using the letter tiles shown on screen, the words in turn filling libraries, book collections and unlocking rooms along the way.
Using the tiles on the screen, you simply play “word search”, using adjacent tiles in any direction. As you use tiles they disappear, and a new set of tiles drop down to take their places. There are also special colored tiles that give bonus points, and blazing hot fire tiles that melt their way to the bottom of the screen if not used in time. Once a fire tile hits the bottom the game is over.
While not extremely challenging, this game is a good way to spend those interminable hours in waiting rooms, airports, bus and train terminals, or waiting in the car park for the last family member to arrive. It can be quite a pain when you reach somewhere around level 18 or so, and the fire tile is an “X” or “Z”, and you get NOTHING in the tile sequence that can make a word, even if you had a dictionary to help you. As the song goes, “Starting all over again is gonna be rough”.
For excitement, this game rates pretty low on the scale, for entertainment it’s about medium, but for warding off boredom when you’ve nothing better to do, it’ll do just fine.
