I'm one of those people who needs to be tricked into working out. If I feel like I'm exercising, I won't do it. At all. Therefore, I have found that the Wii Fit & Wii Fit Plus are the best options so far, as they're very fun and I've experienced some real results from it. However, one can't help but get bored after 2 months straight of the same thing. So I bought this game.

Overall, I sincerely dislike this game. It's too much like a video, it's patronizing, and the motion-recognition is garbagey to the point of it halting the workout and stalling it so long you stop sweating.

I use Wii Fit Plus every day, and it's light years ahead in ease of use, physical feedback, look, graphic design, music, and fun. So disappointed.

Pros:
The workout, when it works, works well. It kicks your butt like whoa.
There's a lot of variety within the workouts, which will keep me from getting bored and quitting.
The additional tools (journal, calorie counter, etc) are useful tools for weight loss purposes.
The instruction is pretty easy to understand.

Cons:
The trainers are so annoying that I find myself cussing at the television. A lot. They are patronizing and the actors have ridiculous perma-grins on their faces that make it hard to watch them.
The motion recognition is crap. It often won't register that you're doing anything when you're working out, causing the whole workout to stall. It, however, didn't register anything wrong the one time I fell on the floor due to over-lunging. Garbage.
The videos are really long and put too much rest time in between workouts.
It's clunky and cumbersome to try to hold the remote, the nunchuck, and the handles of the resistance band if you're small-handed like I am.
The leg strap slides off a lot, and barely fits my mid-thigh. I'm not skinny by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm not obese, either, so it ought to fit a little.
The pseudo-encouraging chatter by the trainer is incessant, and becomes so annoying that I've muted it within 10 minutes.
Having to constantly press A to skip the videos is a bit intrusive.
It doesn't provide opportunity for modification of exercises due to injury or disability, which is a bummer.

Listen, if I wanted a crummy aerobics video, I'd buy one. I don't, though. I want an interactive game that tells me how to maximize my exercises and makes me actually have fun while doing so. This thing fails on both counts. I'd give this thing a D+.

First, you do not need to purchase the first wii active to use this one, also you can not use any of the first wii active activities on this game they do not transfer over, unlike with the wii fit plus. In addition you will most likely face problems with the nunchuk syncing, the activities are pretty good but because of the sync problems I would not recommend this game. It is very frustrating.

I did not like this one more than the original. I find it hard to use. The avatar is moving when you are not and not moving when you are. Working out is a pain already and this makes it even more painful. I wish I would have saved my money. They really need to work on the timing of this product. Also the avatars voice and lecturing on your movements can be annoying.

I loved the orginal and got the addition because it was the best workout game to date. The add on is nice, don't get me wrong but the new game called Your Shape puts this game in the dirt and then kicks it in the mouth for another mintute or two. The Wii fit got it's butt kicked by the EA Active and now the same holds true for the Active compared to Your Shape. I loved EA Active for the first half year but now my freind owns my copy. For one hour of Active is about 20 mins of Your Shape. Now if you don't want to be challenged and are very comfortable with Active then don't get Your Shape. If you want a moderate workout then this is perfect, but if want to use your whole body and be challenged daily then Your Shape is the next step. Your shape is not just a step above but overall way more challenging.Your Shape

Additional point: I do miss clobbering the tennis ball in the tennis section on Active.

The accessories in this game are made of natural rubber latex, so if you have allergies, this is not a game for you. Thank goodness I found out before I bought the game!
